INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Greg Smith of BJJ Trucking Company, LLC, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Phase 11 Site Assessment Work Plan
for the property located at 2431 East Mariposa Road, Stockton, San Joaquin County,
California (site).
The scope of work includes advancement of up to ten (10) soil probe borings for the
collection of soil samples to evaluate and define the type or extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon-impacted soil between 5 and 20 feet below surface grade (bsg). The work
plan provides a description of the scope of work and procedures to be used for soil
boring advancement, sample collection and analysis; and boring abandonment.
The subject property is located within a mixed use (light industrial, commercial and
residential) area of unincorporated San Joaquin County, south of the City of Stockton,
California. Figure 1 shows the setting of the subject property (7.5 Minute United States
Geological Survey [USGS] Topographic Series, Stockton East, California). On-site
structures and proposed boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2.
The subject property is located along the south-southwest side of East Mariposa Road
and west-southwest side of the Highway 99 Frontage Road, in unincorporated San
Joaquin County, south of the City of Stockton, California. Highway 99 is located
approximately 500 feet east of the property. The property comprises seven parcels,
totaling approximately 16.07 acres.
The work plan was prepared as required by San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD) to procure a soil boring permit, for investigation of underground
storage tank (UST) sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
A review of records for subject property address 2431 East Mariposa Road at the
SJCEHD revealed the presence of four USTs: One, approximately 1,000-gallon, waste
oil UST was removed from the property in September 1989; one 3,500-gallon diesel
UST was abandoned in place in 1990, was located partially under the former paint shop
building, and was the subject of a LUST investigation that was closed in 1997; and two
active 12,000-gallon diesel USTs located northwest of the 'Old Office' building. Two
dispensers are located above the USTs.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
