To complete a 5-day soil vapor extraction (SVE) test utilizing existing MW-4. The pilot
test data will be used to evaluate performance and feasibility of SVE for mass removal
of diesel contaminants in the source area on-site.
2. Vapor screening on-site and vapor sampling for chemical analysis will be conducted
during the 5-day period to quantify contaminant mass removed and to calculate the
contaminant removal rate.
3. Selected MWs will be monitored for vacuum response during the test to determine the
radius of influence from MW-4 from which the vacuum will be induced.
4. The vapor removed will be captured and treated on-site with activated carbon prior to
discharge.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
1. Because of seasonal ground water table fluctuation at the site, the work should be
performed when the maximum vadose zone is exposed. The work must be completed
before the rainy season begins. The SVE testing must be complete by November 15,
2010.
2. A SVE evaluation report must be prepared and submitted to the EHD and the
CVRWQCB within 60 day of the completion of the test. The report must also be
uploaded to GeoTracker the SWRCB data base.
DATED 9/30/2010 BY
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS (209) 468-3442
Cc: Brian Millman, AGE, 837 Shaw Road, Stockton, Ca 95215
