• MACHADO PROPERTY Page 5
WKA No. 6078.02
November 1, 2004
begun south of Grant Line Road, onto the subject property, due to site access issues. Therefore,Mr.
Hurd could not tell us the exact location of the pipeline on the subject property or if any
contamination is present along the pipeline alignment where it crosses the subject property.
Archived Building Records
We reviewed archived permit record databases for the subject property at the San Joaquin County
Department of Public Works,Building Inspection Division. This office maintains structural
permit records on microfilm dating back to the 1960s. During our review of the County records,
no structural permits were encountered for the subject property. This finding is consistent with
our experience in that we typically do not encounter structural building department records for
historic rural residential development or farm/ranch/dairy sites, because the historic development
on such sites often predates the commencement of archiving by the County building department.
• Agricultural Review
We discussed the agricultural history of the subject property with a staff member at the San
Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioners Office. The staff member informed us that the
property was predominantly used for hay crops and that no Restricted Use Permits or Annual
Pesticide Use Reports were on file for the subject property. We observed no obvious surficial
evidence of chemical misuse during our field reconnaissance.
Historic Topographic Mans Review
We reviewed historic U.S. Geologic Survey(USGS)topographic maps with coverage of the subject
and adjacent properties at the California State Library. Maps dated 1914 and 1978 were reviewed;
the results of the maps review are each discussed below. It should be noted that the 1914
topographic map was formerly named the Bethany quad. The 1978 version of the topographic map
containing the subject property (Clifton Court Forebay, California) is included as Plate 2. The
property lies in the southeast portion of Section 16, Township 2 South,Range 4 East,Mount Diablo
Base and Meridian. The property has a USGS-reported ground surface elevation of approximately
+80 feet to +100 feet mean sea level (msl).
•
INA[i nra.in❑u
