Surface soil sampling pose the potential for contact with contaminated soil. Personnel will stand <br /> upwind of all sampling activity. Surgical/nitrile gloves and eye protection will be used to protect against contact. Monitoring will <br /> be conducted with a PID in the work area. Upgrade will only occur if readings indicated sustained levels in the breathing zone. <br /> PHYSICAL <br /> ® Hazard Present Risk Levd: ❑ H ❑ M OL <br /> What Justifies Risk Level? Surface soil sampling pose potential for cuts, bruises, slip, trip, or fall and muscle or back strain. <br /> Personnel will have training for and implement safe work practices during sampling activities. Good housekeeping will be <br /> implemented to reduce risk of slip, trip and fall hazards. <br /> BIOLOGICAL <br /> ® Hazard Present Risk Level: ❑ H ❑ M ® L <br /> What Justifies Risk Level? Work location is within an operational area that is covered with asphalt, some weeds and little debris <br /> in the area where animals, rodents or snakes could be present. Personnel will be cognizant of the work location and any potential <br /> presence of hazards. <br /> RADIOLOGICAL <br /> ❑ Hazard Present Risk Level: ❑ H ❑M ❑ L <br /> What Justifies Risk Level? None suspected. <br /> LEVELS OF PROTECTIONMUSTIFICATION <br /> Level D and Modified Level D with eye protection, steel toed boots, leather and surgical gloves, leather gloves, and tyvek if <br /> operations become muddy or dusty.
