• pathways to groundwater MARK replaced these wells with four new monitoring wells and has
commenced a quarterly monitoring and sampling program. Groundwater impacts have decreased
an order-of-magnitude since source removal (USTs, piping, and impacted soils).
Based upon the findings of this investigation and the existing site conditions,-MARK
recommends that the site receive closure with respect to soil conditions. Further soil
investigation or remediation is neither warranted nor recommended.
Petroleum hydrocarbons detected in the groundwater appear to be limited to the area
around monitoring well MW-2 and contained to the SSA site. To further reduce petroleum
hydrocarbons found in the groundwater, MARK has installed a groundwater remediation system
and start-up of the system has commenced.
MARK recommends that quarterly monitoring of wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and
MW-4 be continued during the course of groundwater treatment At which time the necessity
to continue groundwater monitoring will be re-evaluated.
FASCLOSE SUM E-2 92-1177102.36
