Work Plan March 5, 1990
Proposed Unocal Station, Stockton, California AGS 30010-1W
FIELD PROCEDURES
Safetv Plan
The attached site safety plan (Applied GeoSystems, February 22, 1990) describes the basic
safety requirements for the drilling of soil borings at the work site. The safety plan is
applicable to personnel of Applied GeoSystems and to subcontractors of Applied
GeoSystems. The Applied GeoSystems geologist will be the Site Safety Officer. Personnel
at the site will be informed of the contents of the site safety plan before work begins. A
copy of the plan will be kept at the work site and will be available for reference by
appropriate parties during the work.
Drilling Procedures
Before drilling, a permit will be acquired from the SJPHS for drilling five soil borings; one
boring at each corner of the property and one boring in the center of the property. Applied
GeoSystems will contact Underground Service Alert at least 48 hours before drilling to
delineate public utility lines at the site prior to initiating drilling. Before drilling, each
borehole will be hand-augered 3 to 5 feet below grade.
The soil borings will be drilled using a truck-mounted rig equipped with 8-inch-diameter,
continuous-flight, hollow-stem augers. Auger flights will be steam-cleaned to minimize the
6
Agjol ed GeoSystems
