the dispensing end of the tank. The extent of the release appeared to be minor, limited to
approximately six square feet, and does not appear to be a significant impact.
• Four propane ASTs were observed and are not considered to be a potential threat to soil and
groundwater conditions.
4.2.3 PCB-Containing Equipment
Four Pacific Gas & Electric Company pad-mounted utility transformers were observed on
the site. Small dry-type transformers were present in each of the building. Based on the age of
property development, it is unlikely that the transformers would contained PCBs. Dames & Moore
did not observe evidence of any releases from these transformers.
4.2.4 Solid Waste
Solid wastes are accumulated in dumpsters at each tenant space and are hauled away by Delta
Container. No unusual stains or odors were observed by Dames&Moore at the dumpsters.
4.2.5 Drains and Sumps
Floor drains were not observed in the buildings. Stormwater runoff flows towards drains
along the roadway which empty into the stormwater retention pond located at the east end of the
property. The pond is unlined and allows for infiltration and evaporation of the stormwater. No
staining or other evidence of hazardous substances was observed at these drains or the pond.
4.2.6 Wastewater
All domestic wastewater is collected by the septic systems associated with each building.
No problems were reported by the owner or tenants regarding the septic system.
Wastewater from truck washing operations adjacent to Building F flows into a drain
associated with a three stage clarifier and into a lined evaporation pond. Although Mr. Sutherland
reported that the truck wash pad was no longer in use, the drain was backed up with fluid.
4.2.7 Wells
Based on the U.S. Geological Survey topographic map, a water well was formerly located
on the property. Evidence of the well was not observed during the site reconnaissance;however,we
have no data to indicate that the well was properly closed.
R:\MNM98JCM.013 12
DAMES&MOORE
