Levi ne•Fricke•Recon - r a
DRAFT
r6 T
2.1 Conduct Welldrlventory
The DQO and data use for this task are to identify all public and private wells located
within a 1-mile radius of Lincoln Center.
The locations of public and private wells were identified by reviewing data obtained
from the following sources:
• California Department of Water Resources (DWR). DWR maintains a database
of well data for wells installed beginning in approximately 1972. The database
includes the well location designated by township, range, section and subsection,
log number (printed serial number on the Water Well Drillers Report forms), well
owner name, county, and city. LFR obtained a printout of the database records for
wells located in the Study Area, and reviewed well logs and well permits on file at
the DWR.
• San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(SIC PHS/EHD). LFR compiled data from SJC PHS/EHD records consisting of
well installation permits, well destruction permits, and pump repair permits, which
are filed by address and available for review on microfiche. In addition, LFR
reviewed microfiche records of sanitation permits, which are typically filed for
septic system installations and are required to indicate if a well exists within 50 feet
of the proposed installation.
• San Joaquin County Department of Public Works (SJC DPW). LFR obtained
well permits, well logs, and well destruction records for former LVMD wells from
this source.
• City of Stockton Department of Municipal Utilities (COS DMU). LFR obtained
well location maps, well installation permits, well logs, and water quality results
for municipal supply wells located in the Study Area and operated by COS DMU.
• California Water Service (CWS). LFR obtained well locations, well installation
permits, well logs, and well destruction permits for municipal supply wells located
in the Study Area and operated by CWS.
• State and federal database records. Sites where monitoring wells have been
installed in the Study Area were identified by VISTA Information Solutions, Inc.,
which searched the following publicly available databases: Lust Information
Systems, California Environmental Protection Agency (April 1996); Cortese List-
Hazardous Waste Substance Site List, Office of Environmental Protection, Office
of Hazardous Materials (February 1995); Underground Storage Tank Registrations
Database, State Water Resources Control Board (January 1994); and Aboveground
Storage Tank Registrations Database, State Water Resources Control Board (May
1995). In addition, SJC PHS/EHD was contacted to verify the number of wells,
approximate well depth, and status of each site identified in the database search as
having affected groundwater.
The information compiled for the well inventory from these sources included property
Page 2
4I1 I W ELL.AMI:AMJ
