Blaine Tech
P.O. Box 5004 1680 Rogers Ave
San Ramon, California 94583-0804 San Jose, California 95112
Subject: Request to Collect Split Groundwater Samples from Groundwater Monitoring Wells at the
Chevron Station Located at 6633 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Hunter and Ms. Lilly:
On behalf of the Settling Dry Cleaning Defendants (SDCDs), Levine-Fricke-Recon(LFR) is requesting
access to collect split groundwater samples at Chevron Station (Site Number: 9-6171) located at 6633
Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California. LFR is conducting an ongoing environmental investigation at
the Lincoln Center site on behalf of the SDCDs. As part of the environmental investigation, LFR
performs quarterly water-level measurements and groundwater sampling at the Lincoln Center site.
Our next quarterly sampling event is scheduled for the week of November 16, 1998. It is LFR's
understanding that Blaine Tech has scheduled its next quarterly sampling event at the Chevron site on
November 19, 1998. To facilitate our environmental investigation, we request your permission to allow
an LFR geologist to accompany Blaine Tech field personnel during this sampling event to collect split
groundwater samples from the three Chevron site monitoring wells (CHMW-002, CHMW-003, and
CHMW-005). Collected split groundwater samples will be analyzed for volatile organic compounds
using EPA method 8260A. Upon receipt and validation of laboratory analytical results, LFR will
transmit a copy of the analytical data to Ms. Lilly.
We look forward to receiving your permission to collect split samples during Blaine Tech's November
quarterly sampling event. On behalf of the SDCDs, we thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If
you have any questions concerning our request, please do not hesitate to call Sarah Raker or me at
(510) 652-4500.
Sincerely,
W_
Dan J.
