♦ The house contains three bedrooms and two bathrooms and has central
heating and a wall unit air conditioning system. The heating unit with the
return is located in a laundry/utility room adjacent to the kitchen and the
location of the stove.
♦ The house has a septic system located behind the house.
C. VISUAL OBSERVATIONS
♦ At the time of the preliminary site assessment, the house was unoccupied with
no furniture or personal belongings present. The unit appeared to have been
recently cleaned and vacuum tracks were visible on the carpeting.
♦ Red staining was present on the sheetrock wall behind the stove and on the
ceiling above the stove in the kitchen. Dark staining was also present on the
vinyl flooring under the former location of the refrigerator. The walls
throughout the house had light red colored film that was very apparent when a
white Whatman filter paper was wiped over a surface during wipe sample
collection. The staining was greatest around the kitchen area and on the vents
located over the doorways of the bedrooms.
♦ Carpeting was present throughout the house, except for in the kitchen,
bathrooms, and laundry/utility room next to the kitchen.
♦ The ceilings in the unit contained a sprayed-on acoustic material in all areas of
the house, except for the bathrooms.
♦ Outside the house, next to an irrigation well/pump a patch of dead and
blackened dirt was observed. A red colored patch of dirt was also observed
next to the house.
♦ Outside the house there is metal shed with a wood floor that was empty at the
time of the sampling.
♦ No chemicals, staining or other signs of drug manufacturing were observed in
the barn located in the orchard in front of the house. The barn contained an
old car and some mechanical equipment.
D. SAMPLING METHODOLOGY
♦ NES collected wipe samples from surfaces suspected to contain residual
contamination from methamphetamine and/or precursor chemicals used
BFC Properties 3 NETWORK ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS,INC.
Preliminary Site Assessment NES Project Number 04-261
26237 Miller Avenue, Escalon, California
