Proposed Cineplex Site
Soil&Groundwater Sampling Report
Page: 5
Water Laboratory Sample Results (5-24-00)
Sample TEPH Gas Method 82608 Compounds
I.D.
B-1-H20 NA ND ND
B-2-H20 ND ND ND
13-3-H2O ND ND 6.4 Chloroform
B-4-H2O ND ND 4.9 Chloroform
13-5-H2O 0.08 mg/L*diesel ND ND
B-6-H2O 0.18 mg/L*diesel ND 4.2 ggIL Chloroform
13-7-H2O 0.08 mg/L*diesel ND ND
B-8-H2O ND ND ND
B-9-H2O 0.31 mg/L*diesel ND 3.1 µg/L MTBE
*Weathered—considered old or degraded
Note: ND=Non Detect NA= Not Analyzed
Boring B-1 was drilled near the old Stockton Hotel adjacent to a 5-inch metal cap labeled
gas:
' p
y..
1
F
`Y
Soil samples were collected from 5 and 15 feet in depth and a groundwater sample from
below 20 feet in depth. Analyses were non-detect for gasoline and the 8260B
Compounds. A sample was collected for oil and diesel but was broken in the lab and not
analyzed. The concern at this location was for gas or white gas used for street lighting.
Boring B-2 was drilled near the Cancun Restaurant and Cudney Auto Supply. Two metal
caps labeled gas and what appears to be a fill and vent pipe are located in the sidewalk at
this location. Soil samples were collected from 10 and 20 feet in depth and groundwater
below 20 feet in depth. All samples were non-detect for gasoline, TEPH (for diesel &
oils) and the 8260B Compounds.
Boring B-3 was drilled near former Dye & Cleaning and Laundry facilities (Figure 3).
Soil samples obtained from 10 and 20 feet in depth were non-detect for the compounds
analyzed. The water sample contained 6.4 µg/L Chloroform. Chloroform can be a
byproduct of chlorination such as for drinking water wells or swimming pools and it can
also be a common laboratory contaminate when city waters are chlorinated. The
concentration is well within drinking water standard.
