visually inspected and logged. Incoming tank trucks must
stop at the laboratory for sampling and testing of the
shipment.
After unloading, the empty biomass trucks proceed to the
exit area truck scale, where they will be weighed and
logged out. Empty trucks entering the facility to pick
up briquettes will be weighed at the receiving area,
proceed to the briquette loading area to pick up
briquettes and shipping papers. Incoming trucks have
priority at the weigh scale to ensure no queing on
county roads takes place. An outgoing truck queing lane
(151 x 2201) is provided.
The pumpable liquid unloading area consists of a docking
area, pump station and a storage tank area. The
unloading area for used lubricants will be provided with
secondary containment to contain spills and be cleared
from any sources of ignition.
Based on 809 plant availability, and normal delivery
time periods of 12 hours per day and 5 days per week,
the expected number trucks entering and exiting the
facility is as follows (daylight hours only):
BIOMASS 4 to 5 trucks/hour
BRIQUETTES 3 to 4 trucks/hour
LUBRICANT/DISTILLATE: 1 truck every 3 hours
TOTAL 7 to 9 trucks/hour
The number of each type of truck needed to meet the
delivery schedules discussed above are as follows:
BIOMASS: 10 trucks
BRIQUETTES: 12 trucks
USED LUBRICANT: 2 trucks
2.3.2 Laboratory Facility
The facility will have an analytical laboratory on site
with the primary purpose to perform analysis of
agricultural biomass, production briquettes, incoming
used oils, recycled oils, and intermediate production
materials. The laboratory will have the capability of
providing sufficient details of chemical and physical
properties to assure that no off-specification materials
are accepted.
The laboratory will be staffed with certified
technicians and chemists to perform analyses using
standard test methods including those of the EPA, ASTM,
NIOSH and other approved test methods.
