05 August 1997
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0103
center. A blower overhaul would include the replacement of all internal seals and bearings
(sixteen seals and five bearing). The overhaul was recommend by the manufacturer, prior to
any field inspections and repairs of the burner unit.
• AGE has also been in contact "with an authorized Tuthill service center for Northern
California, in South San Francisco. The cost for the blower overhaul will be 51.500. AGE
recommends invoicing the USTCF directly for the repairs. AGE proposed to dismantle,
transport and reinstall the blower into the unit at a cost of$45 per hour (Technician).
• Replacement cost for the same design-specification Tuthill blower is $2,800 dollars, not
including installation costs.
• Once the blower has been repaired to design specifications, King-Buck recommends 'I field
service call from their office. Costs for the service have already been sent to your office and
also approved by the USTCF. Once again,we recommend invoicing the USTCF directly for
costs incurred from King-Buck Technology.
• The EnvioSparge in-situ air sparge system will remain on-line during the inspection and
repair of the SVE unit.
• Furthermore, AGE has personnel traveling to the San Francisco area on August 6"; the
blower unit could be delivered to the service center for a reduced cost.
Upon completion of the inspection and possible repairs,AGE will provide another status update.
