QX-88-1 page 2 Cross-Sections : 1 . Add cross-sections across the entire length and width of the areas to be excavated. 2 . Add cross-section details for the gas line, PG&E easement, and EBMUD aqueduct (see attached letter) . 3 . Indicate final elevations at both ends of cross-section details. 4 . Cross-sections should show where any stock-piling of overburden will be located. No stockpiling is permitted within 25 feet of any property lines (per Section 9-2244 (b) . 5 . Final elevations within 25 feet of any property boundary shall be equal to or greater than the abutting property unless the elevation prior to excavation is less than that of the abutting properties , in which case, the differential shall not be in- creased (per Section 9-2244 (L) ) . 6 . The cross-sections should show the full extent of the location of all overburden (the cross-sections as shown now indicate overburden on the crests of hills) . 7 . Indicate property boundaries on the cross-sections. This can be done either to scale, or where impractical, by indi- cating with the following symbol and noting the cor- responding distance in feet. Operational Characteristics: 1 . EBMUD should be contacted to establish a legal crossing of the aqueduct for the quarry operation (see attached letter from EBMUD) . 2 . A full description of the quarry operations and any on-site processing of sand, gravel, and gold is needed. Details of all equipment and facilities used should be included. 3. What will be the hours of operation for both the excavations and any on-site processing? Section 9-2244 (f) prohibits oper- ations between 9 : 00 p.m. and 5 : 00 a.m. except if modified by the review authority. Site Plan: 1 . Outline property boundaries and show the private road on the vicinity map. 2 . On the aerial map lightly shade the areas to be excavated with cross-hatching. 3 . Staff recommends that the limits of excavation be modified to further minimize the elimination of trees and to conform to the natural contours . The applicant may wish to consider limiting the excavated area of Phases 1-23 to that portion of the property on the west of the 200 ' wide PG&E easement.
