FISite Preparation and Ins ation Instructions
TLS-350 UST Monitorinstem
G. EXTERNAL INPUT WIRING.
The TLS -350 can accept a dry -contact switch closure
input from an external device such as a line leak detector
or well monitoring system. Each 110 Combination Module
accepts two inputs.
IMPORTANT: ONCE EXTERNAL INPUTS HAVE BEEN
CONNECTED TO OUTSIDE DEVICES AND THE SYS-
TEM HAS BEEN STARTED AND PROGRAMMED,
MODULE POSITIONS, CONNECTOR POSITIONS
AND WIRE POSITIONS CANNOT BE CHANGED
WITHOUT REPROGRAMMING THE SYSTEM!
IMPROPER SYSTEM OPERATION WILL RESULT IF
ANY ONE OF THESE POSITIONS IS CHANGED
WITHOUT REPROGRAMMING.
Be sure to accurately record on the circuit directory the
type of module, and the location of each device wired to the
connector.
Identify each connector with a self-adhesive number label
according to the slot number.
1. For each external input, connect a shielded cable
consisting of two 18 AWG conductors to the appropri-
ate terminals on the output module (see Figure 19,
"UO Combination Module Wiring Diagram").
2. Ground the cable shield to the ground terminal closest
to the conduit entry. Do not ground both ends of the
shield on the cable run.
Figure 19. UO Combination Module Wiring Diagram.
H. PUMP SENSE INTERFACE MODULE WIRING
CONNECTIONS.
WWARNING: TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK
WHICH COULD KILL YOU, BE SURE AC
POWER TO THE TLS -350 MONITOR IS OFF
BEFORE OPENING THE FRONT -PANEL AND
INSTALLING OR WIRING ANY EXPANSION
MODULE. IF HIGH VOLTAGE IS SHORTED
ACROSS ANY BARRIER TERMINAL, EXPLO-
SION AND FIRE COULD RESULT.
20
•
The Pump Sense Interface Module comes with a con-
nector in place. The connector provides screw termina-
tions for switch inputs and AC controls. Do not re-
move the connector from the module or remove
the module from its slot in the monitor during
wiring. Terminal identifications appear only on the
module bracket. Removing the connector from the
module increases the risk of wiring errors.
2. Label all connectors using the self-adhesive labels
supplied according to the slot in which the modules are
installed.
3. Record the location (i.e., Tank #1, Tank #2, etc.) of each
pump controller wired to a module on the circuit direc-
tory located inside the TLS -350 door.
6 CAUTION: ONCE PUMP SENSE WIRING HAS
BEEN CONNECTED AND THE SYSTEM HAS
BEEN PROGRAMMED, MODULE CONNECTOR
AND WIRING POSITIONS CANNOT BE
CHANGED WITHOUT RE -PROGRAMMING THE
SYSTEM.
IMPROPER SYSTEM OPERATIONS WILL RE-
SULT IF ANY ONE OF THESE POSITIONS IS
CHANGED WITHOUT RE -PROGRAMMING.
4. Connect the two (2) color -coded or marked wires from
the pump controls to the proper terminals on the Pump
Sense Interface Module connector (see Figure 20, "Pump
Sense Module Wiring Diagram").
IMPORTANT: BE SURE TO MAINTAIN THE COR-
RECT CIRCUIT ORIENTATION BETWEEN THE
COLOR -CODED OR MARKED FIELD WIRES AND
CONNECTOR TERMINALS DURING WIRING.
NOTE: For complete Pump Sense Module installa-
tion instructions and wiring diagrams, refer to
Veeder-Root Manual No. 576013-822.
INPUT rr'-r_ 'I r1'p1TA xo ft RELAY
PUMP►rIPp HZTRPR RA
REur p.Arwcs
o
N vpL`2A Ma.
O
O MULE O
IG 1R AC
AMP VMAX.
MOD ULE
NOT USED
0 0 0 0 0 010 0 0 0 CONNECTOR
GROUNDLUG
CLOSEST TO
I I I
CONDUIT
'0(00000 0 0—
ENTRY
I I I
RIGID
CONDUIT
I I I I
I I I MONITOR
S
I I I I
I I
NC I
CI
UP TO _
IE NO
INPUT INPUT IEXTERN L EXTERNDEVICAL
(SHIELDED CABLES) DEVIC'
EXTERNAL INPUT I RELAY OUTPUT
— CONTROLS
PUMPAPUMP
CONTROL CONTROL
WIRING#18 AWG L WIRING.INAWG
Figure 19.
