FRONTAGE ROAD
MANTECA, CALIFORNIA
DELTA PROJECT NO.40-99-479
LS!fNTROpUCTJON
DOM Environmental Consullants,Inc.(Delta)has prepared this work plan describing previous work
as well a, the proposed hydrogeologic.F_ ^s3ment to bo performed at 14800 W. Frontage Road in
Manteca, California, (site), Section 28, TIS, R7E. MDBM (Figure 1). This site assessment is in
response to the reported detection of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soils adjacent to the
underground storage tanks at the site.
The Phase 1 Site Hydrogeologic Al;sessment will be undertaken to determine the following:
o Evaluate the site hydrogeologic characteristics.
o Evaluate the horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil.
a Determine if ground water at the site contains any dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons.
o Determine the depth to ground water and the direction of ground water flow
underlying the,site.
o Determine the location of nearby water-supply wells.
o Evaluate the need for additional assessment or remedial activities.
"_Scane_of AQL
To accomplish these objectives, the following activities are proposed:
a Review available geologic and hydrogeologic data pertinent to the site.
o Drill one standard-penetration, hollow-stem auger soil boring.
o Complete one soil boring as a monitoring well.
o Classify soils according to the Unified Soil Classification System.(USCS).
o Screen containerized soil samples with a portable pholoionization detector for Iota[
organic vapors.
