Bulk waste oil is stored in a 20,000 gallon <br />aboveground tankj to the east of the shop. <br />Cleaning the loco otives occurs in the diesel shop and at the wash pad. These areas are also <br />plumbed to the di*l shop oil/water separator then to the oil/water treatment system. <br />The oil/water sep rator and treatment system functions are to separate the yard and facility <br />runoff into threeifferent wastestreams: 1) recyclable waste oil, 2) waste oil sludge, and <br />3) wastewater. <br />The recyclable wa to oil is reclaimed from the oil/water separator system and stored in large <br />(10,000 gallon and 20,000 gallon) aboveground tanks. This oil is transported and recycled by <br />Evergreen Oil Company. <br />The waste oil slud Ye is a by-product of the oil/water treatment system. This sludge is pumped <br />through below gra Je piping to tank cars. Union Pacific transports this sludge by rail for <br />disposal in Counci Bluffs, IA. <br />The wastewater flws into the City of Stockton Wastewater Treatment System. This water is <br />discharged under permit from the City of Stockton Municipal Utilities Department. <br />The spent oil filteare stored in a container at the diesel repair shop.
