I26 April 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 99-0520 <br /> Page 7of8 - y <br /> 5 2 HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL <br /> A total of eighteen soil samples were analyzed for TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, DIPE, ETBE, MTBE, <br /> TAME and TBA in accordance with techniques prescribed by EPA Methods 8015 Modified and <br /> 8260 Modified, respectively <br /> • TPH-g and BTEX compounds were all detected in soil sample SB 1-10 TPH-g was detected <br /> at a concentration of 4 mg/kg Benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylene were detected <br /> at concentrations of 12,ug/kg, 5 ,ug/kg, 5 ,ug/kg and 20,ug/kg, respectively Total xylene was <br /> also detected in sample SBI-15 at a concentration of 5 ,ug/kg <br /> • TPH-d was detected In soil samples B1-10 at 4 mg/kg <br /> • The oxygenated fuel additive MTBE was detected in seven of the soil samples analyzed The <br /> concentration of MTBE detected in the seven soil samples ranged from 7 ,ug/kg to <br /> 2,720 ,ug/kg The highest MTBE concentration was detected from soil collected from the <br /> former dispenser area at ten feet bsg(SBI), significant concentrations were also detected at <br /> depths of 5 feet and 15 feet bsg No MTBE was detected at 35 feet or 40 feet bsg <br /> 1• Laboratory results of soil samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in Table 1 <br /> The laboratory reports (PET Laboratory ID AD0210-07 through AD 0210-18),quality assurance and <br /> quality control,(QA/QC) reports and chains-of-custody are Included In Appendix D <br /> 5 3 GROUND WATER ELEVATION, FLOW DIRECTION AND GRADIE{NTS <br /> Z o.sF vac f( w�� (c�4-t-,,— Z <br /> J. <br /> Depth to ground water at the site ranged from 14I I to 14 79 et below the well casing tops The <br /> ground water elevations at the site ranged from 8 23 feet above mean sea level (msl) <br /> The ground water flow direction and gradient were calculated from the ground water elevation data <br /> IContours of the ground water elevation data suggest that the ground water flow was directed toward <br /> the northeast from the former UST area The ground water gradient on site was calculated to be <br /> 0 0026 under the former UST Figure 3 Illustrates the contoured ground water elevations <br /> r <br /> 5 4 HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED GROUND WATER <br /> After the Installation of the ground water wells on the site, all ground water monitoring wells were <br /> monitored and sampled Each sample was analyzed for TPH-g;TPH-d and BTEX, with analysis for <br /> MTBE In accordance with techniques prescribed by EPA Methods 8020 and 8260 Modified TPH-g, <br /> TPH-d, BTEX, DIPS, ETBE, MTBE, TAME and TBA compounds were not detected In the ground <br /> Iwater samples collected and analyzed from the site <br /> IAdvanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
