I
OL
23 April 2001
AGE-NC Project No 96-0229
• Methanol, ethanol, ethylene dibromide (EDB), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), tertiary
butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert butyl ether (ETBE), tert amyl methyl
ether(TAME), and confirmation of MTBE by EPA Method 8260 Modified
Additional ground monitoring wells will be proposed based on the results of the CPT drilling and
grab ground water sample analysis
33 REPORT PREPARATION
Following CPT boring advancement and analysis of grab ground water samples, a report of findings
will be prepared The report will include a description of work performed and the results of the CPT
soil and groundwater sampling analysis Laboratory reports for ground water analysis, testing
methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody
documentation will be presented in the report Conclusions and recommendations will also be
included in the reports, if applicable The report will be in a format acceptable to the PHS-EHD and
the RWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist
s
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist Procedures for CPT boring advancement, grab ground water sampling,
equipment decontamination and sample shipment are outlined below
41 CPT DRILLING AND GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
Based on the sand and gravel content of soil samples collected at the site at depths as deep as 50 feet
bsg, CPT soil borings will be advanced to target depths of approximately 100 feet bsg utilizing a 25-
ton truck-mounted CPT drill ng equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods The first soil
boring will utilize a hydraulic ram to advance a cone penetrometer to the desired depth Soil
parameters such as cone bearing, sleeve friction, friction ration and pore water pressure will be
measured as the cone penetrometer is advanced Rinseate generated during drilling activities will be
containellzcd in properly labeled DOT-appio-ved 55-gallon drurtis, and stored ori-site ►n an area
lacking public access
A second soil boring will be located adjacent the first CPT boring for ground water sample
collection Based on CPT findings, discrete grab ground water samples will be collected in selected
saturated intervals of porous and permeable material A HydroPunch sample tool will be pushed into
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
