Miner Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms. Lagorio, <br /> I have prepared this letter to document our telephone conversation on October 29, 2008 <br /> regarding former Unocal service station's 2859 and 0187 located at 1.665 Pacific Avenue and <br /> 437 E. Miner Avenue, respectively, in Stockton, California. The purpose of this telephone <br /> conversation was to discuss the letters from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department (EHD) for former Unocal service station 2859 dated October 22 and former <br /> Unocal service station 0187 dated October 23 2008. <br /> Pursuant to our telephone conversation, Chevron has directed its consultant; ARCADIS, to <br /> provide an amended work plan for former Unocal service station 2859 to the EHD prior to <br /> November 21, 2008 (within 30 days of October 22, 2008). The amended work plan will <br /> include the following: <br /> Technical justification for locations including impacted source areas (e.g. VW-2 and <br /> others) and depths of proposed soil vapor probes including proposed construction <br /> installation and completion details <br /> • Additional deep borings (terminating at approximately 65 feet below ground surface <br /> [bgs]) in areas of known impacts to further define the vertical and lateral extent of <br /> soil impacts in the apparent source area (i.e. the former eastern dispenser island <br /> near VW-2) <br /> Technical justification for depth specific groundwater sampling using Snap Samplers <br /> in MW-2 <br /> Technical justification for not restarting the ozone sparge system <br /> i <br /> r <br />
