Soil Vapor Monitoring
Soil vapor monitoring will be conducted on a quarterly basis. Five soil
gas probes will be installed for the monitoring program. The location of
these probes are shown on Drawing G-1. Each of these probes will be
sampled on a quarterly basis. Additionally, a vapor sample will be
collected at each dual phase extraction well on a quarterly basis. Vapor
samples will be collected in Summa® Canisters and submitted to an
analytical laboratory for TO-14 analysis.
In addition to quarterly soil vapor monitoring, an organic vapor monitor
will be utilized for the field measurement of VOC vapor concentrations at
soil vapor monitoring probes and dual phase extraction wells. This field
monitoring will be conducted on a monthly basis.
Reporting
Quarterly monitoring reports will be prepared and submitted to RWQCB.
These reports will include:
• The results of soil vapor monitoring and ground water monitoring;
and,
• Treatment System operating parameters, including vapor and
ground water extraction rates, mass of VOCs removed during the
reporting period, quantity of floating product removed, and an
evaluation of the system effectiveness during the reporting period.
6-4
