Health and Safety Plan
A Health and Safety Plan has been developed for the construction of this
remedial action and will be implemented during all phases of construction
activities. The Health and Safety Plan is presented in Appendix D. The
plan addresses the safety of personnel directly involved in construction
activities, as well as the safety of the public during the construction
process. The UP construction contract will require the selected contractor
to develop and implement their own Health and Safety Plan. This plan
will be subject to ERM review and approval, and will include all aspects of
the plan presented in Appendix D.
Air monitoring is addressed in Appendix D as part of the Health and
Safetv Plan. This will address fugitive dust control during field activities.
Health and Safety Station
A health and safety station will be maintained on site with the following
health and safety equipment available during construction activities:
wash basins; eye wash station; first aid kit; personal protective clothing;
and respirators equipped for particulate filtration.
Reporting
Following completion of construction activities, and installation of the
remedial action, a construction implementation report will be prepared
and submitted to RWQCB. This report will document the construction
activities that occurred during implementation of the remedial action. As-
built drawings will be included in the report. Any modifications or
variations to the approved design will also be described in this report.
Construction Duration
Anticipated duration of the construction activities is six months. The
chronology and duration of each construction related activity is as
follows:
7-3
