! • <br /> 26 October 2000 <br /> 0 AGE-NC Project No 95-0128 <br /> Page 5 of 10 <br /> 35 GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS <br /> Following the installation of the new monitoring wells, ground water monitoring and sampling <br /> activities will be conducted for all the monitoring wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum of one <br /> year (four sampling events) Additionally, monitoring activities will include recording depth to <br /> ground water measurements and collection of ground water samples Ground water sample collection <br /> protocols are described in Section 4 3 Ground water samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified <br /> laboratory for the analytes noted in Section 3 4 <br /> Laboratory reports for ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality <br /> control (QA/QC) reports and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in quarterly <br /> reports with findings and recommendations <br /> 36 WELL PUMPS, INSTALLATION AND PROCESS PIPING <br /> It is anticipated that a Grundfos Rediflow down-well pump, type 5E5, equipped with Franklin 1/3 <br /> • hp, 230V, 3-wire motor will be installed in the newly installed ground water extraction well One- <br /> inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC pipe will be installed from the pump discharge to the surface with <br /> a safety chain to prevent dropping the pump to the well bottom This well system is rated to removed <br /> five-gallons of water per minute (gpm) To minimize sediment intake through the pump, the bottom <br /> of the pump/motor assembly will be suspended approximately 2 feet from the extraction well <br /> bottom Electrical wiring will be connected from the top of the pump through Class I electrical <br /> connectors/function boxes and electrical conduit to the pump controller <br /> 3 7 WELL AND PROCESS PUMP CONTROLLERS <br /> Both the extraction well pump and the water treatment process pump will be controlled by PumpTec <br /> controller, the ground water extraction pump will operate on and independent controller The pump <br /> control will be supplied by an amperage sensing/time control switch This switch will detect a <br /> decrease of amperage when water level drops below the impeller intake from the Grundfos pump <br /> The process pump, located after the holding tank, will be controlled by electrode switches placed at <br /> various levels in the holding tank An emergency shut-off switch will be located immediately below <br /> the top of the holding tank An intermediate pump-on switch will be placed approximately 8-inch <br /> below the emergency shut-off switch and activate the process pump Intermediate pump-off switches <br /> will be utilized near the bottom of the holding tank to turn the process pump off <br /> Advanced GeoEnwonmental,Inc <br />
