The Contractor shall build in all miscellaneous items to be set in masonry for which <br /> 6 placement is not specifically provided under separate Divisions, including reglets, lintels, <br /> 7 ties, electrical panel boxes, sleeves, vents, grilles, anchors, grounds, and exterior electric ' <br /> 8 conduits and fixtures, and shall cooperate with other trades whose work is to be <br /> 9 coordinated with the work under this section. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 J. All anchorage, attachment, and bonding devices shall be set so as to prevent slippage and ' <br /> 12 shall be completely covered with mortar or grout. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 K. All ties and reinforcing for masonry shall be furnished and installed by the Contractor. , <br /> 15 <br /> 16 L. Bed and grout all steel, for equipment and machinery, and items coming in contact with <br /> 17 masonry where grouting is required, including door bucks and frames set in masonry. The <br /> 18 Contractor shall install all anchor bolts, base plates, and seats in masonry walls, and build <br /> 19 in all items required for the completion of the building as they apply to masonry. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 3.03 CLEANING ' <br /> 22 <br /> 23 A. All holes in exposed masonry shall be pointed, and defective joints shall be cut out and re- <br /> 24 pointed with mortar of same color as that of the original and adjoining work. ' <br /> 25 <br /> 26 B. Exposed masonry shall be protected against staining by wall coverings, and excess mortar <br /> 27 shall be wiped off the surfaces as the work progresses. ' <br /> 28 <br /> 29 C. All exposed masonry shall be thoroughly cleaned. Before applying any cleaning agent to <br /> 30 the entire wall, it shall be applied to a sample wall area of approximately 20 square feet in <br /> 31 a location approved by the Engineer. No further cleaning work may proceed until the t <br /> 32 sample area has been approved by the Engineer, after which time the same cleaning <br /> 33 materials and method shall be used on the remaining wall area. If stiff brushes and water <br /> 34 do not thoroughly clean the surface of unglazed masonry, on which no green efflorescence , <br /> 38 appears,the surface shall be thoroughly wetted with clear water and then scrubbed with a <br /> 36 solution of not more than I part hydrochloric (muriatic) acid to 9 parts water, followed <br /> 37 immediately by a thorough rinsing with clear water.
