A copy of Gypsum Associations's Recommended Specifications GA-216 shall be available <br /> 20 for reference on the job site. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 B. All material used under this section shall be asbestos free. <br /> ' 23 <br /> 24 C. For all conditions not covered by this section follow the recommendations in the <br /> 25 manufacturer's technical literature. Wherever UBC requirements are more stringent than the <br /> ' 26 requirements of this section or of the manufacturer, the UBC requirements shall dictate. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 1.04 PRODUCT HANDLING <br /> 29 <br /> ' 30 Stockpile gypsum board flat on raised supports in piles taking care not to exceed load <br /> 31 limits of floor. Leave in original wrappings or containers until ready for actual use. Protect <br /> 32 gypsum board from wetting. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 <br /> 35 PART 2: MATERIALS <br /> ' 36 <br /> 37 2.01 GYPSUM WALLBOARD <br /> 38 <br /> 39 A. Where thickness is not specified, use 5/8-inch thick material. Exposed finish material shall <br /> 40 have long edges tapered and the taper shall culminate in a rounded profile characteristic <br /> 41 of U.S. Gypsum (USG) Smooth Wall system; Georgia-Pacific, or equal. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 B. Regular Board: ANSI/ASTM C36. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 C. Water Resistant Board: ANSI/ASTM C473, Georgia-Pacific "Dens-Shield", or equal. 5/8" <br /> ' 46 thickness for walls, 1/2" thickness for ceilings. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 2.02 FASTENERS <br /> 49 <br /> 50 A.
