Precut board to required sizes and make all cutouts. Butt ends and edges. Cut board to <br /> 13 fit by scoring and breaking or by sawing from face side. Board may be installed either <br /> ' 14 horizontally or vertically. Install with face side out. Do not install damaged or damp boards. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 D. Secure to wood with 1-3/8" to 1-7/8" corrosion-resistant annular ring drywall nail or 1-1/4" <br /> 17 to 1-5/8" corrosion-resistant, waferhead or buglehead, coarse thread (Type W) or multilevel <br /> 19 thread (Type S Hi-Lo), sharp point drywall screw. For joints and angles in tile or prefinished panel areas: Apply 2" glass fiber tape over joints. <br /> ' 21 Embed tape in adhesive used to set tile or prefinished panels. Allow joints to dry and then <br /> 22 caulk openings prior to setting tile or installing prefinished panels. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 F. For installation as finished material (non-tile or prefinished panel areas): Embed with 2" <br /> 25 1 0x1 0 glass mesh tape set with Georgia-Pacific Speed Set. Pre-cut panels to required size and make necessary cut-outs. Install ceiling boards in the <br /> ' 31 direction that will minimize the number of end-butt joints. Stagger end joints at least V-0". <br /> 32 Install with face side out. Do not install damaged or damp boards. Butt boards together <br /> 33 at edges and ends with not more than 1/16" open space between boards. Locate edge and <br /> ' 34 end joint over supports. Do not place tapered edges against cut edges or ends. Install with <br /> 35 1/4" open space where boards abut other work. <br /> 36 <br /> ' 37 B. Tape all joints with 10 x 10 glass mesh tape. Cover joints and entire board surface with <br /> 38 G-P Speed Set Joint Compound or USG Durabond 90 to provide a smooth, even finish. <br /> 39 Let dry 2 hours minimum. Seal surface with alkyd sealer or sealer compatible with specified <br /> 40 painting system. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 3.07 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FASTENER APPLICATION <br /> 43 <br /> ' 44 A. Install fasteners no closer than 3/8 inch to end or edge. Space fasteners opposite each <br /> 45 other on adjacent ends or edges. Begin fastening from center of gypsum board adjacent <br /> 46 to fasteners being driven to insure that gypsum board will be secured tightly to framing <br /> 47 member. Check for looseness at fasteners. Drive fastener with shank perpendicular to face <br /> 48 of board. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 B. Drive nails with crown-head hammer.
