SECTION 09900 <br /> 2 <br /> ' 3 PAINTING <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 PART 1 : GENERAL <br /> 7 <br /> 6 1.01 DESCRIPTION <br /> 9 <br /> 10 The work of this section consists of furnishing and applying paint for architectural, <br /> 11 structural, mechanical and miscellaneous work as scheduled in Section 09901. <br /> 12 <br /> ' 13 The work comprises the painting of all exposed surfaces of concrete, sheet metal, iron and <br /> 14 steel, process equipment, electrical equipment, process piping ducts and other <br /> 15 miscellaneous items. <br /> ' 16 <br /> 17 1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br /> 1e <br /> 19 Section 09901: Finish Schedule <br /> ' 20 <br /> 21 1.03 SUBMITTALS <br /> 22 <br /> ' 23 A materials list and samples shall be submitted as required by Section 01300 and as <br /> 24 follows: <br /> 25 <br /> 26 1. Materials list naming each product to be used identified by manufacturer and type <br /> 27 number. <br /> 26 <br /> 29 2. Volatile organic compound (VOC) level (gm/1) and manufacturer's certification of <br /> ' 30 compliance with applicable air quality limits for each coating. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 3. Manufacturer's application recommendations for each product submitted. <br /> t 33 <br /> 34 4. Submit a current chart of the Manufacturer's available colors for selection by the <br /> 35 Engineer, forty five (45) days prior to the start of coating and painting. Furnish to the <br /> 36 Engineer for review one 12 inch by 12 inch drywall sample with the specified interior <br /> ' 37 paint system, and one 12 inch by 12 inch sheet of galvanized steel with paint system <br /> 36 as specified for exterior service, in colors selected by the Engineer. Samples, when <br /> 39 reviewed and accepted by the Engineer, shall establish the quality of the painted <br /> 40 surface where these applications are indicated. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 1.04 DEFINITION <br /> 43 <br /> ' 44 The term "paint" as used herein includes enamels, paints, sealers, emulsions and other <br /> 45 coatings used as prime intermediate or finish coats for protection or decoration. <br /> 46 <br /> ' 47 1.05 COMPLIANCE WITH VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND (VOC) LIMITS <br /> 4e <br /> 49 All paint and coating products shall comply with the applicable limits on volatile organic <br /> ' so compounds (VOC) as established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency <br /> 51 and by State and local air quality regulating agencies.
