8. GALVANIZED RIGID STEEL CONDUIT -PVC COATED (GRS-PVC) <br /> a. Standard weight, galvanized conduit with a 40-mil thick polyvinylchloride coating <br /> bonded to both the inside and outside. Conduit shall be hot-dip galvanized, <br /> conforming to NEMA RN 1. <br /> b. Provide PVC coated galvanized rigid steel factory ells for 90 degree transitions. <br /> c. All joints shall be treated with T&B "Kopr-Shield". <br /> d. All exterior surfaces of boxes, fittings and couplings shall be PVC coated to 40 mils <br /> thickness. <br /> e. Fittings shall be hot dipped galvanized steel or galvanized cast ferrous metal with <br /> PVC coating. Provide threaded-type fittings, couplings, and connectors; set-screw <br /> ' type and compression-type are not acceptable. <br /> f. Conduits entering enclosures shall be fitted with insulated grounding bushing; 0-Z <br /> "HBLG", Appleton"GIB", or approved equal. All grounding bushings shall be tied <br /> to the grounding system with properly sized bonding conductors per the NEC code. <br /> 9. LIQUID TIGHT FLEXIBLE METAL CONDUIT - (SEAL TIGHT) <br /> a. Minimum trade size one-half inch(1/2"). <br /> b. Connectors: Appleton "STB" or approved equal through two inches (2") trade <br /> size. Appleton "ST", O-Z "4Q", or equal with insulated bushings for over two <br /> inches (2")trade size. <br /> c. Suitable for connection of indoor or outdoor motors, controls, and mechanical <br /> equipment. <br /> d. Shall be used for conduit coupling to all vibrating and shifting equipment. <br /> e. Flexible conduit lengths shall not be greater than 36 inches. <br /> f. Flexible metallic conduit shall not be considered as a ground conductor, install a <br /> separate wire for equipment bonding. <br /> g.
