1 3.08 TESTS AND INSPECTION , <br /> 2 <br /> 3 A. General Requirements: All materials, equipment, installation and workmanship included in <br /> 4 this contract, if so required by the Engineer, shall be tested and inspected to prove <br /> 5 compliance with the contract requirements. No tests specified herein shall be applied until <br /> 5 the item to be tested has been inspected and approval given for the application of such <br /> 7 test. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Tests and inspections shall include: <br /> 10 <br /> 11 1. The delivery acceptance test and inspections. , <br /> 12 <br /> 13 2. The installed tests and inspections of items as installed. <br /> 14 '15 Tests and inspections, unless otherwise specified or accepted, shall be in accordance with <br /> is the recognized standards of the industry. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 The form of evidence of satisfactory fulfillment of delivery acceptance test and of installed <br /> 19 test and inspection requirements shall be, at the discretion of the Engineer, either by tests <br /> 20 and inspections carried out in his presence or by certificates or reports of tests and <br /> 21 inspections carried out by approved persons or organizations. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 B. Delivery Acceptance Tests and Inspections: The delivery acceptance tests and inspections <br /> 24 shall be at the Contractor's expense for any materials or equipment specified and shall <br /> 25 include the following: <br /> 25 <br /> 27 1. Test of items during the process of manufacture and/or on completion of manufacture, <br /> 28 comprising material tests, hydraulic pressure tests, electric tests, performance and <br /> 29 operating tests and inspections in accordance with the relevant standards of the <br /> 30 industry and more particularly as detailed in individual clauses of these specifications, <br /> 31 or as may be required by the Engineer to satisfy himself that the items tested and , <br /> 32 inspected comply with the requirements of this contract. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 2. Inspection of all items delivered at the site in order that the Engineer may be satisfied <br /> 35 that such items are of the specified quality and workmanship and are in good order <br /> 38 and condition at the time of delivery. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 C. Installed Tests and Inspection: <br /> 39 <br /> 40 All mechanical and electrical equipment shall be tested by the Contractor to the satisfaction <br /> 41 of the Engineer before any facility is put into operation. Tests shall be specified herein and <br /> 42 shall be made to determine whether the equipment has been properly assembled, aligned, <br /> 43 adjusted and connected. Any changes, adjustments or replacements required to make the <br /> 44 equipment operate as specified shall be carried out by the Contractor as part of the work. <br /> 4s ,as At least 30 days before the time allowed in his construction schedule for commencing <br /> 47 testing and start-up procedures, the Contractor shall submit to the Engineer, in duplicate, <br /> 48 details of the procedures he proposed to adopt for testing and start-up of all mechanical , <br /> 49 and electrical equipment to be operated singly and together. <br /> 50 <br /> 51 During the testing of equipment, the Contractor shall make available experienced factory <br /> 52 trained representatives of the manufacturers of all the various pieces of equipment, or other <br /> GENERAL CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTS <br /> 051194 01010-4 <br />
