(continued) <br /> Room 132 - plastic tub of rrietal waste <br /> - milk jug of metal waste <br /> A tank of waste oil was ob erved in the auto shop caged waste storage area without a label. <br /> All hazardous waste contai iers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "HazardousWaste" <br /> 2. name and address of ge ierator <br /> 3. hazardous properties (flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br /> 4. physical state (liquid, sol d) <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> All hazardous waste tanks hall be marked with the words "Hazardous Waste" and the accumulation <br /> start date. Immediately label these containers and tanks and ensure that all hazardous waste containers <br /> and tanks are marked with all the required information. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 23. A 55 gallon drum Of Used oil filters was observed in the auto shop storage area improperly labeled. <br /> Per the auto shop teacher, the filters are being handled as 'used oil filters' sent out for metal reclamation, <br /> however they were labeled with an incomplete hazardous waste label (lacking hazardous properties, <br /> labeled "crush oil filters," with an accumulation start date of March 9, 2010). Bills of lading for the <br /> recycling of used oil filters r the last three years were not found on site. Used oil filters may be <br /> recycled as scrap metal ins ead of being handled as hazardous waste. Used oil filters must be stored in <br /> a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters" (not as hazardous waste), and marked <br /> with an accumulation start date. Facilities that generate up to one ton of used oil filters per year may <br /> store the filters up to one year. A copy of each bill of lading must be kept on site for at least three years. <br /> Immediately provide proper labeling for these oil filters and ensure that all used oil filters are managed in <br /> this way. Immediately locall.e a copy of all bills of lading for used oil filters for the last three years, <br /> maintain them on site, and submit copies to the EHD by January 16, 2011. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 27. In room 132, a plastic tub and a milk jug, both labeled "Metal Waste Ca Fe Al Ag," were observed <br /> without lids. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or <br /> removing waste.
