Public Services
The project area is served by Agricultural Commission District Number 7; the
Northern San Joaquin Mosquito Abatement District, and the Central California
Telephone Company. Electrical service is available to the existing processing facility
from Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Neither the processing facility nor the quarry
area use natural gas service.
Water Supply
Municipal water service is not available at the existing processing facility. Water
is currently provided for the facility via a private water well located on property owned
by the applicant. This well is the water source for domestic supply for employees and
for dust control purposes at the processing facility and existing quarry operations. The
majority of water used at the site is used in aggregate resource processing and for dust
control. The processing facility uses approximately 1,500 gallons per minute (gpm), of
which most is recycled through a series of settling ponds on site. The only water not
available for recycling would be that used for dust control at the quarry site and along
the haul route between the existing quarry and the processing facility.
Wastewater
Chemical toilet facilities are used at the processing facility; therefore, no
wastewater, i.e., domestic sewage, is generated from the existing operations. Water used
in resource processing is recycled through a series of settling ponds.
3.7.2 Impacts
Emergency Services
No activities would be undertaken at the proposed quarry site that are not part of
operations at the existing quarry area. No change in the need for emergency services
would be anticipated by the proposed project and therefore, no impact to these services
would be expected.
94
