-If water table is encountered and a plan for excavation within the water table is <br /> submitted and approved, County shall conduct periodic inspections of the <br /> excavation site to ensure that excavation is proceeding according to the approved <br /> plan. <br /> -County shall ensure that applicant has received appropriate permits from the RWQCB. <br /> Mitigation 7. - If it becomes necessary to extract groundwater from the excavation, a <br /> qualified groundwater hydrologist or hydrogeologist shall conduct an evaluation of the <br /> potential impact on existing local groundwater wells. The selection of the individual or <br /> firm to conduct the evaluation shall be subject to approval by the County and the <br /> California Department or Water Resources. The evaluation shall determine the potential <br /> drawdown and area of influence of the groundwater extraction. If it is determined that <br /> the groundwater extraction could significantly impact local wells, these wells shall be <br /> monitored for project related drawdown or groundwater extraction from the excavation <br /> shall be limited so that no impact will occur. If significant adverse impacts to local <br /> wells is identified, mitigation shall be provided such as deepening or replacement of <br /> affected wells. <br /> Implementation Responsibilities: <br /> -Applicant submits plan to the County Department of Public Works to evaluate the <br /> potential impact of groundwater extraction. The plan shall include a proposed <br /> mitigation in the event that impacts to nearby wells could occur. <br /> -County reviews plan in consultation with the Department of Water Resources and <br /> either approves plan or requires modifications. <br /> -Applicant conducts evaluation. <br /> Schedule: <br /> -The plan shall be submitted and approved by the County prior to extraction of <br /> groundwater. <br /> E' <br /> 124 <br />
