Implementation Responsibilities: <br /> -See Mitigation 2 <br /> Schedule: <br /> -See Mitigation 2 <br /> Monitoring: <br /> -See Mitigation 2 <br /> Mitieation 5. - The route of the access road and bridge through the riparian corridor <br /> shall be adjusted to avoid removal of valley oak and elderberry. If these species cannot <br /> be avoided, a survey shall be conducted by a qualified arborist or biologist once the <br /> final alignment of the bridge and access road has been staked. Each valley oak that will <br /> be removed shall be mitigated for at a rate of five to one. These replacement trees shall <br /> be one to five gallon trees planted along the Mokelumne River, in the area where the <br /> existing bridge will be removed, to enhance the riparian vegetation in that area. Drip <br /> irrigation shall be provided for the replacement trees for a period of three years. Any <br /> elderberry that would be impacted by the bridge and access road shall be relocated <br /> within an unimpacted area of the riparian corridor according to USFWS specification. <br /> Protective fencing shall be installed around any elderberry in the vicinity of the access <br /> road and bridge. <br /> Implementation Responsibilities: <br /> -Applicant provides the services of a qualified biologist of certified arborist to conduct <br /> a survey for valley oaks and elderberry along the proposed alignment of the <br /> bridge and access road. This survey along with a proposed mitigation plan will <br /> be submitted to the County Planning Department. <br /> -County approves alignment and mitigation plan or requires modifications. <br /> -Applicant implements approved mitigation plan. <br /> 132 <br />
