Quarterly Monitoring Report- Fourth Quarter 2014 Page 6
OAK RIDGE WINERY
WKA No. 6364.07
December 18, 2014
' 7.1 Water Quality Trends
1 Water quality data from historical and current monitoring of TDS and TKN were plotted with
respect to time for each of the monitoring wells in the monitoring network at the Winery. The
evaluation of the trends observed in the plots is presented in this section. In addition, other
notable changes or fluctuations are presented herein. Appendix D contains the plots of TDS
and TKN for each of the monitoring wells.
' Based on review of current and historical analytical data, presented in Table B-1 Appendix B
and the charts presented in Appendix D, the following observations are presented:
• MW1 —The fourth quarter TKN concentration at this well is reported at 4.6 mg/I
from the historic high of 11 mg/I seen during second quarter 2013. Additionally,
fourth quarter potassium concentration at this well is reported at 17.0 mg/I, lower
than the third quarter 2014, and down from the historic high of 38 mg/I seen
' during first quarter 2003. Potassium was also found at 37 mg/I during first
quarter 2009.
' • MW2 — Concentrations of potassium, TKN, and total dissolved solids remain
more than one standard deviation below their respective arithmetic means. The
' remaining parameters exhibit stable trends.
• MW3 — Laboratory results revealed ammonia-as-nitrogen in the MW3
groundwater sample to be 1.1 mg/I, increasing significantly from previous
' measurements. The fourth quarter results also saw significant increase in total
dissolved solids to 410 mg/L, a concentration nearing the MCL of 450 mg/L and
the highest recorded value since reporting began. Laboratory results revealed
pH within one standard deviation above the arithmetic mean of 6.40.
Concentrations of all other quarterly analytes in MW3 fall below their respective
' arithmetic means.
• MW4— Laboratory results revealed pH less than one standard deviation above
' the arithmetic mean of 6.35. Concentrations of all other quarterly analytes in
MW4 remain below their respective arithmetic means.
' 7.2 Analysis of Variation Evaluations of Water Quality Parameters
' Per MRP 05-01-172, the winery is required to conduct a statistical analysis of data obtained in
their monitoring program, specified in California Code of Regulations (CCRs) Title 27 Section
20415(e) (8) (A)-(E). The purpose of the statistical analysis is to determine whether there has
