Z1 INC <br /> i <br /> subsurface immediately beneath the tank Excavated soil would be remedcated on site <br /> by bioremediation or removed to an appropriate treatment or disposal facility This work <br /> would be conducted under the oversight of San Joaquin County and closure status <br /> would be specifically related to the hydrocarbon contaminated soil related to the concrete <br /> tank <br /> 1.2 Project Background <br /> The Lustre-Cal Nameplate (LCN) site is located at 110 East Turner Road in north central <br /> Lodi, California The site location is shown on Exhibit 1, and a plan of the LCN site is <br /> presented as Exhibit 2 The site vicinity consists of mixed light-industrial and residential <br /> areas Topography is relatively flat The LCN buildings and nearby warehouse were part <br /> of the Shewan-Jones Winery which probably dates back to the 1920's Exhibits 3 to 5 <br /> are aerial photographs obtained during 1963, 1975, and 1986, respectively These <br /> photographs document the LCN site evolution over the past 30 years As can be seen <br /> • on the aerial photographs, the LCN site and surrounding area has been an industrial <br /> sector of Lodi Specifically, the LCN buildings have not had significant change over the <br /> years <br /> LCN purchased the existing office building from Ackel Properties in 1972 and has <br /> operated at this site since the Spring of 1970 LCN business is producing color anodized <br /> and etched aluminum nameplates and labels LCN's past process utilized the following <br /> compounds sodium hydroxide, ammonium bkfluoride, 1,1,1 trichloroethane, diacetone <br /> alcohol, and synthetic resin <br /> At the LCN site, there is a concrete tank with a capacity of approximately 30,000 gallons <br /> The location of this tank is shown on Exhibit 2 The concrete tank was reportedly used <br /> by previous tenants or property owners to store fuel oil prior to LCN's residence at the <br /> site Records reviewed by TMG(1992) indicate that the concrete tank was used by LCN <br /> to store their process wastes and wastes from the concrete tank were reportedly <br /> . disposed to the ground surface only once at the two locations on site These areas are <br /> 12270010 013 Page 5 <br />
