A
small block building will house equipment that will be used to draw air through the ground
north of Alden Park. This technique removes oil from soil using biodegradation. The test
will continue for up to 10 weeks after construction is completed.
Seep Collection Vaults - We will be installing underground seep collection vaults in areas
where a tar-like oil has been seeping to the ground surface. We will remove some ground
around the seeps, and the vaults will provide a controlled outlet for future seepage. Most
of the affected areas are on the far eastern edge of Alden Park, along and on Palm Circle.
The only visible signs of the installed vaults will be manhole covers that are used for lids.
9aa2Co17 e(;tion Vau]
(side View)
Ground-7 Vault Cover —7
as I CCa
y+?W I Vault I4
, Arl I :
Gravel
If you have any questions or concerns about these activities, please call me collect at
(415) 894-9320.
Very truly yours,
M -
Mary E.
