-2- <br /> 3 . 2 Project Manager <br /> The project manager (PM) shall direct onsite operational efforts . <br /> At the site the PM has primary responsibility for : <br /> 1 . Assuring that appropriate personnel protective equipment is <br /> available and properly utilized by all onsite personnel; <br /> 2 . Assuring that personnel are aware of the provisions of this <br /> plan, are instructed in the work practices necessary to ensure <br /> safety, and are familiar with planned procedures for dealing with <br /> any emergencies. <br /> 3. Assuring that all field personnel have a minimum 24 hours <br /> training. <br /> 4. Assuring that personnel are aware of the potential hazards <br /> associated with site operations. <br /> 5. Monitoring the safety performance of all personnel to ensure <br /> that the required work practices are employed. <br /> 6. Correcting any work practices that may result in injury. <br /> 7 . Preparing any accident/incident report (GO-42 form) . <br /> 8. Assuring the completion of plan acceptance forms attached. <br /> 3 . 3 Site Safety Officer <br /> The Site Safety Officer (SSO) shall : <br /> 1. Implement the project Health and Safety Plan and report any <br /> deviations from the anticipated conditions described in the plan. <br /> 2. Ensure that all monitoring equipment is calibrated on a daily <br /> basis when needed and that the results are properly recorded and <br /> filed. <br /> 3 . Ensure monitoring equipment is operating correctly and pro- <br /> vide for maintenance if it is not. <br /> 4. Assume any other duties as directed by the PM. <br /> 5 . Be responsible for identifying all onsite personnel with spe- <br /> cial medical problems . <br />
