File No. 20-3978-01.W l4 KLEINFELDER
January 6, 1997
The hand auger borings will be logged, and sampled according to the protocol described in
Attachment B. The soil samples collected will be field screened using an organic vapor
detector as described in Attachment B, Section B-2.2. The hand auger borings will be
backfilled with the cuttings generated during sampling.
Laboratory Analysis
One soil sample from each hand auger location will be submitted under chain-of-custody
control to Sequoia Analytical Laboratories (Sequoia) of Sacramento, California. Sequoia is
certified by the California Department of Toxic Substances to perform the requested analyses.
It is anticipated that samples will be analyzed on a normal laboratory turnaround schedule,
which usually requires up to 10 working days for receipt of analytical data. The soil samples
will be analyzed for the following:
Number
Of Samples Samples Laboratoiy
Location Borings Collected Analyzed Analysis
Solvent Waslidown 5 15 5 • TPH Purgeable 'FEX/MTBE
(Auto Slab) • TPH extractable fuel
fingerprint (diesel/motor oil)
• Volatile Organics EPA 8240
Truck Wash 6 18 6 • TPH Purgeable TEX/MTBE
• TPH extractable fuel
fingerprint(diesel/motor oil)
• Volatile Organics EPA 8240
Historical Auto Shed 4 8 4 • TPH Purgeable TEX/MTBE
• TPH extractable fuel
fingerprint(diesel/motor oil)
• Volatile Organics EPA 8240
Bulk Tote Storage 3 6 3 • pH
• TPH extractable fuel
fingerprint(diesel/motor oil)
• Volatile Organics EPA 8240
Open Scan
• Semi-Volatile Organics EPA
8270 Open Scan
20-3978-0I.W141207PE011 Page 3 of January 6, 1997
Copyright 1997, Kleinfelder, Inc.
