1 In addition, the Department reserves the right to take further <br /> 2 enforcement actions including the issuance of Orders as <br /> 3 provided by law. <br /> 4 6.8 TIME PERIODS <br /> 5 Unless otherwise specified, time periods begin from the <br /> 6 effective date of this Order. <br /> 7 6.9 EXTENSION REQUESTS <br /> 8 If, for any reason, Respondents are unable to perform any <br /> 9 activity or submit any document within the time required under <br /> 10 this Order, Respondents may request, in writing, an extension <br /> 11 of the time specified. The extension request shall include a <br /> 12 justification for the delay. All such requests shall be in <br /> 13 advance of the date on which the activity or document is due. <br /> 14 6. 10 EXTENSION APPROVALS <br /> 15 If the Department is convinced that good cause exists for an <br /> 16 extension as set forth in paragraph 6.9 it will grant the <br /> 17 request and specify in writing a new schedule. Respondents <br /> 18 shall comply with the new schedule. <br /> 19 6. 11 ENDANGERMENT DURING IMPLEMENTATION <br /> 20 In the event that the Chief of the Northern California Section <br /> 21 of the Toxic Substances Control Division of the Department <br /> 22 determines that any activities or circumstances are creating an <br /> 23 imminent or substantial endangerment to the health and welfare <br /> 24 of people on the Site or in the surrounding area or to the <br /> 25 environment, the Section Chief may order Respondents to stop <br /> 26 further implementation of this Order for such period of time as <br /> 27 needed to abate the endangerment.
