u
15634 STEINEGUL,ESCALON
(FORMER) RAYMOND GREER CONSTRUCTION
PAGE
increasing concentration of Benzene in the groundwater, the consistent southward gradient flow
direction of the groundwater(toward the domestic well), and the potential health hazards if the
domestic well is impacted. PHS/EHD also pointed out the environmental impact to the deeper aquifer
if the contamination reached the domestic well. Mr. Greer conveyed he is confused by the above-
mentioned proposed work plan because he doesn't understand who is responsible for obtaining the
permission to work on the neighboring property and the encroachment permit from the county to drill
on the country road. PHS/EHD explained that it is the responsible parties'responsibility. The
responsible parties have the option of using their consultant to obtain the permission and encroachment
permit or doing it themselves. Mr. Greer expressed he understands and requested directions from
PHS/EHD for what he needs to do next.
The proposed work should commence no later than April 5,2000. Failure to commence the proposed
work by this date may result in request of formal enforcement action by the San Joaquin County
District Attorney office.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran,RENS,Director
Environmental Health Division
Jeffrey Wong, REHS Margare agorio,REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
G CRWQCB,Central Valley Region-Marty Hartzell
C: BSK&Associates-Casey Weaver
