Raymond Greer An Individual
yanG
m l 1
15634 Steinegul Road, Escalon, California June 7, 1997
Phase II-Site Assessment, Report of Findings Page: 2
3.D Scope of Work
On March 7, 1997 WIF, Inc , in conjunction with Frontier Drilling Company completed a
single soil boring to 80' below grade level (bgl) at the former underground storage tank
(UST) location The water table underlying this site was intercepted at approximately 78
to 79 foot bgl Soil samples were taken from the boring at 5 foot intervals starting at ten
(10) feet bgl and continuing to the capillary fringe Selected soil samples were sent to the
laboratory for analysis All soil samples were screened with a Portable Photo Ionization
Detector (PID) to aid in the definition of any soils contamination
3.1 Drilling
Permits were obtained as needed before drilling began The soil boring was
accomplished using a mobile mounted drilling rig employing the use of a solid stem
flight auger of 8 7/8 inch o d
All drilling equipment was thoroughly steam-cleaned before drilling began, to
prevent the introduction of contamination and between borings to prevent cross
contamination
The boring was logged under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional
using the Unified Soil Classification System (Appendix D) The color, texture,
moisture, plasticity (if applicable), consistency of the earth materials, pertinent soil
or bedrock characteristics, and any evidence of contamination were noted All
water-bearing zones and the depths at which they were encountered were noted on
these logs (Appendix C)
IThe cuttings from the drilling operation were containerized on-site during drilling
for proper disposition The proper method of disposal will be dependent upon
results of laboratory analysis This disposal will be the responsibility of the client
unless other arrangements have been made
3.2 Soil Sampling
All soil sampling equipment was thoroughly steam-cleaned before and between
sampling to prevent cross contamination Relatively undisturbed soil samples were
taken at intervals of not more than 5 feet in order to evaluate the subsurface
I
