Ranch Market • - 3 - • 8 January 2013
23569 Santa Fe Rd., Riverbank
San Joaquin County
• Proper destruction of all remaining monitoring and remediation wells per San Joaquin
County well destruction permitting requirements.
B). Tasks required if results of the two groundwater events concentrations do not show a
significant decline in concentrations since 2008:
• A work plan and a report to investigate vertical and lateral extent of the groundwater plume
will be necessary to complete the investigation. A new due date will be provided in a
subsequent Staff letter.
• Groundwater monitoring would also continue for Staff selected wells.
Staff subsequently checked with the SWRCB CUF, and your site was allotted adequate funding
to conduct the necessary work for this fiscal year under SWRCB CUF Claim Number 15211.
Please note that Staff shall make recommendation to issue the draft Orderfor failure to comply
with the above A task or the B tasks (if necessary); that SWRCB CUF Emergency, Abandoned,
and Recalcitrant Account (EAR) funds would then be expended to allow the State consultant to
conduct the necessary work to move the Site to closure; and that the State contractor incurred
EAR costs can result in SWRCB CUF liens on the property.
As stated above, written comments to the draft Order are due 25 January 2013. The laboratory
data for the first monitoring event is due no later than 15 March 2012 and may initially be
submitted electronically to me at the following email address (the data must also be reported per
the AB 2662 requirement to SWRCB's GeoTracker website and one hard copy mailed to me). If
you have questions, please contact me by either by phone at (916) 464-4615 or I can be
reached by e-mail at ibarton(v)waterboards.ca.gov.
/James L.L.
