Remedial Well and Soil Vapor Extraction System Installation Report 4 <br /> Ranch Market 23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank CA November 27 2002 <br /> • In October 2001, SECOR oversaw the )Installation of CPT borings CPT-1, CPT- <br /> 2, and CPT-3 to further define the lithology and vertical distribution of gasoline <br /> range petroleum hydrocarbons dissolved in groundwater between the former <br /> UST pit and DW-3 and DW-4, and east of the site across South Santa Fe Road <br /> (Figure 2) Based on analytical results of water samples collected from the three <br /> CPT borings, vertical distribution of gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> dissolved in groundwater between the former UST pit and DW-3 and DW-4, and <br /> east of the site across South Santa Fe Road, were defined <br /> 3.0 PERMITTING/SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> Two well installation permits were obtained from the SJCEHD for Parcel Numbers 249-070- <br /> 01 i and 249-070-012 Copies of the well permits are included in Appendix A Underground <br /> Service Alert was contacted at least 48 hours prior to conducting the fieldwork <br /> As required by the Occupational Safety and Health Adrrunistration (OSHA) Standard <br /> "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 120), a <br /> site-specific Health and Safety Plan was reviewed and signed by all SECOR personnel and <br /> subcontractors prior to commencement of work at the Site <br /> 4.0 SOIL BORINGS, SAMPLING, AND WELL INSTALLATION <br /> 4.1 Soil Borings <br /> Between July 8 and 15, 2002, SECOR supervised the installation of 20 ozone sparge wells (S- <br /> 1 through S-20) and four vapor extraction wells (V-7 through V-10) to depths ranging from <br /> approximately 30 to 45 feet below ground surface (bgs) using a truck-mounted HSA drill rig <br /> equipped with 8-inch outside-diameter (O D ) augers Well completion details are presented <br /> on Table 2 The locations of the 24 new remediation wells are shown on Figure 3 <br /> Soil samples were collected from the ozone sparge wells at selected depth intervals for <br /> lithologic description, field photo-ionization detector(PID) measurements, and to retain soil <br /> samples for laboratory analysis In well S-7, samples were collected at 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 <br /> feet bgs In wells S-12, S-13, and S-17, samples were collected at 20, 25, 30, and 35 feet bgs <br /> In the remaining wells, samples were collected at 30 and 35 feet bgs Samples were not <br /> collected from ozone sparge wells S-18, S-19, and S-20 <br /> All down-hole drilling equipment (augers, push rods, etc ) were steamed cleaned between <br /> each soil boring and the soil sampling equipment was cleaned and rinsed following collection <br /> of each soil sample The drill cuttings were placed on visqueen and stored at the Site pending <br /> characterization The auger steam cleaning water was retained and stored in six 55-gallon <br /> drums pending offsite disposal <br /> I\Ranch Market-RiverbanklReports\RB-Remed Well Install doe SECOR International Incorporated <br />
