J
Domestic Well Installation Report(DW 2R) 4
. Ranch Market,23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank CA February 1,2001
The confirmation groundwater samples collected from DW-2R on January 8, 2001, were reported
to contain toluene and TPHg at concentrations of 46 parts-per-billion (ppb) and 200 ppb,
respectively (Table 1) Kiff's laboratory analytical report noted that chloroform and toluene are
the primary contributors to the reported TPHg value Nitrate as NO3 was reported in DW-2R at a
concentration of 10 milligrams per liter (mg/L, or parts-per-million [ppm]), which falls below
California's Department of Health Services maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 45 ppm
Nitrate as nitrogen was not reported above the laboratory detection limit of 0 40 ppm, which falls
below the California MCL of 1 ppm Copies of the laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-
custody documents are included in Attachment 6
After review of the data, Mr Infurna with the SJCEHD verbally requested SECOR resample the
well to confirm toluene is not present
Second Groundwater Sample Collection and Analyses
On January 11, 2001, SECOR purged DW-2R for approximately five hours and collected a
second confirmation water sample (Attachment 4) The water sample was collected in
appropriate containers, preserved on ice, and transported under chain-of-custody manifest to Kiff
Analytical LLC in Davis, California Per the SJCHED request, the water sample was analyzed at
Kiff for BTEX, TPHg, and MtBE using EPA method 8260B
The second confirmation groundwater sample collected from DW-2R on January 11, 2001, was
reported to contain toluene at concentrations of 5 0 ppb (Table 1 and Attachment 6)
After review of the data, Mr Infurna with the SJCEHD verbally requested SECOR collect a third
water sample from DW-2R to confirm toluene is not present
Third Groundwater Sample Collection and Analyses
On January 15, 2001, SECOR purged DW-2R for approximately seven hours and collected a
second confirmation water sample The water sample was collected in appropriate containers,
preserved on ice, and transported under chain-of-custody manifest to Kiff Analytical LLC in
Davis, California Per the SJCHED request for the concentration of chloroform, the water
sample was analyzed at Koff for a full scan volatile organic analyses using EPA method 8260B
•
File DW-2 Destruct doe
