The interior areas of the site building consist of a small concrete-floored warehouse (Photo 4), <br /> and office space (Photo 3). Steel beams on concrete slab foundations support the structure. <br /> 3.3.1 Hazardous Substances <br /> At the time of the site inspection, small amounts of hazardous substances were observed at the <br /> subject property. Resin Compound was present sealed in 5-gallon plastic drums and stacked on a <br /> pallet inside the warehouse (Photo 5). According to Mr. Vanorder, the Resin Compound is not <br /> used at the facility but is distributed to owners of crushing equipment for use in equipment <br /> maintenance. A Material Safety Data Sheet is included as Appendix C to this report. No other <br /> hazardous substances were observed during the site reconnaissance. <br /> 3.3.2 Hazardous Wastes <br /> The facility reportedly does not currently generate any hazardous waste. <br /> 3.3.3 Underground/Aboveground Storage Tanks <br /> Four 2500-gallon aboveground storage tanks were observed on the subject property. These steel <br /> tanks contain water used for fire prevention purposes. The tanks must remain on site for the <br /> purposes of fire protection. The tanks are filled by the onsite groundwater supply well that <br /> • automatically pumps water into the tanks. No underground storage tanks were reported to exist <br /> onsite. <br /> 3.3.4 Drums and Containers <br /> Three empty 55-gallon drums were observed at the subject property. According to Mr. Vanorder <br /> the drums have not been used to store hazardous materials. There was no evidence of staining <br /> around the drums. <br /> 3.3.5 PCB-Containing Equipment <br /> No PCB-containing equipment was observed on the subject property. <br /> 3.3.6 Solid Waste <br /> Solid waste is currently generated at the subject property and placed in a dumpster contracted for <br /> disposal with Sunrise Sanitation. <br /> 3.3.7 Drains and Sumps <br /> No drains or sumps were observed on the subject property. <br /> J:\05930191\ESA.doe 6 <br />
