}
INTERI\ONAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
The wells will be purged of three well volumes of groundwater utilizing a decontaminated
bailer or pump (depending on volume of water to be removed). A water sample will be
5i collected from each well when the water reaches 80 percent of its initial level. If the wells
are slow to recover, samples will be collected after the wells have stabilized. If the wells are
j.. found to contain free product, a sample for laboratory analysis will not be collected.
Measurements of temperature, conductivity, and pH will be measured and recorded to verify
well stabilization.
r
Groundwater will be sampled using a new Voss Technologies disposable bailer. Each water
sample will be placed in appropriate containers supplied by the laboratory. Care will be
1 taken that no headspace is present in sample bottles which will be analyzed for volatile
organic compounds. Once the samples are collected, the bottles will be placed in "ziploc"
w
bags and sealed with security tape. The samples will be stored in a chilled ice chest until
delivery to the laboratory.
In addition to the groundwater samples, a quality assurance field blank will be analyzed in the
same manner as the other sample. The field blank will consist of filling identical sample
+ bottles with distilled water in the field and treating them in the same manner as the rest of the
samples.
i..
The water samples will be analyzed by a California state certified analytical laboratory. The
7 samples will be analyzed utilizing the methods and detection limits shown below:
Sample Detection Limit
Analysis Name Container Method (ppb)
r (BTEX)
benzene Three 40ml EPA Modified .3
toluene volatile organic 8020 .3
ethyl benzene vials with HCI .3
total xylenes .6
w
}
L
i MZ"-N-9Z04QM83.NER
