Upon arrival to the laboratory, the samples' condition will be checked and
any nonconformaties will be noted on the chain of custody forms. Copies of signed
laboratory reports will be presented in the subsequent Site Assessment Report.
The ground surface and top of the monitoring well casing will be surveyed to the nearest 0.01
k
foot and be related to an established bench mark. Survey measurements for the well casings
will be made from the north side of the casing. The survey data will be used in the future to
} calculate groundwater elevations in order to produce a groundwater contour map.
2.7 Borehole Abandonment
lo* Upon completion of soil and groundwater sample collection activities, boreholes not selected
to be completed as groundwater monitoring wells will be abandoned. The augers and
k., temporary well casings will be removed and the open boreholes will be tremie grouted to
grade with a 95% cement, 5% bentonite grout mixture. The top of the borehole will be
finished to match the surrounding surface cover.
2.8 Disposal of Contaminated Materials
Drill cuttings from the boreholes, will be stored in a 10 yard rolloff bin located in the parking
' lane of North San Joaquin Street. Decontamination, development and purge liquids from the
monitoring wells will be contained in 55-gallon drums, as they are produced, and stored on-
site. The disposable bailers and purge lines from development and water sampling will be
.• placed in the bin with drilling cuttings and disposed of with the soil.
