V
dpw0000l
7 February 2005 RECEIVED
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department 20,95
304 East Weber Avenue ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
Third Floor PERMIT/SERVICES
Stockton, California 95202-2708
Attention: Ms. Margaret Lagorio
Reference: Site Investigation
Premdor, Inc.
433 West Scotts Avenue
Stockton, CA 95203
Site Code: 00001329 Masonite Project No.: P013.032
Dear Ms. Lagorio,
This letter is in response to your letter dated 21 December 2004. After a review by San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (EHD),"it was recommended that an additional
investigation be conducted. Based upon the previous data submitted by the plant, it is believed
that the additional investigation will cause undue financial hardship on the facility, and will not
provide significant data for the expense. We thereby humbly ask that the additional
investigation be rescinded.
In addition, the Third Quarter report figures are suspect. The data appears to indicate the
cause of increased contamination may have possibly originated from an upstream source,
which may have actually impacted our site monitoring wells laboratory results. Therefore,
Masonite believes that upstream sources should be monitored for leaking tanks.
The site conceptual model was originally determined by the Work Plan submitted to your office
April 2003.
Please call me at(256) 447-1304 or fax (256) 447-1035, if you have any questions or
comments.
Regards,
MASONITE INTERN ONAL, INC.
Dr. Sonya Olbra , RE
Corporate Director viron ental Management
cc:H.Ulster,D.Trubey
Masonite International Corporation
105 W.Swan St.,Suite A•Piedmont,AL 36272•Telephone(256)447-1304•Fax(256)447-1305
www.masonite.com
