. T .
RZOM
Working To Restore Nature
• (one quarter). RESNA proposes one additional monitoring well to be installed in the
predominately downgradient location, southeast of the former UST's. If future monitoring
episodes indicate a consistent change in flow direction, the need for additional wells will be
reevaluated.
L
The Site Characterization Report (AquaGeosciences, September 1993) presented results of soil
L, sample analyses which has been construed to indicate that the extent of TPHg in soil was not
defined at 30 feet bgs north of the former tank excavation. It was reported that boring TH-5
L contained concentrations of TPHg at 0.37 parts per million (ppm) at a depth of 30-30.5 feet bgs
('fable 3). As stated in the Site Characterization Report, the Practical Quantitation Limit of the
L. State-certified laboratory was 1.0 ppm for TPHg making this data questionable and inappropriate
for use as an indication of soil contamination. RESNA concludes that soil contamination is
- defined (< 1.0 ppm) to the north at a depth of 30 feet bgs and therefore additional soil borings
in this vicinity are not warranted (Plate 3).
L/
PURPOSE AND PROPOSED WORKSCOPE
L The purpose of this site investigation is to further define the extent of groundwater
contamination. To achieve this goal the following scope of work is proposed:
L,
• Install one additional groundwater monitoring well;
I
' • Analyze selected soil samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg),
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX), and total lead;
L • Survey and develop the new well, purge and collect samples from all monitoring wells;
L • Prepare a Problem Assessment Report (PAR).
LThe workplan below describes in detail each of the tasks to be completed to further define the
extent of groundwater contamination. All work described in this workplan will be performed
Lin accordance with RESNA's Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan presented in Appendix I
and with the Site Safety Plan presented in Appendix II.
V
150078\REP0RTS\WP-0890.FNL 3
