ARCADIS Site Investigation Work Plan
401 North San Jose Street,Stockton,Caifornla
$.3 Hydroptmch Groundwater Sampling
One groundwater sample will be taken at each CPT location. A CPT rig will be used to advance the hollow
push rods to the bottom of the boring. The push rods will then be retracted, exposing an encased filter
screen and allowing groundwater to infiltrate hydrostatically from the formation Into the inlet screen.A small
diameter bailerwill be lowered through the push rods Into the screen section for sample collection. Once the
bailer Is filled, the bailer will'be retrieved and the groundwater will be'transferred Into the appropriate
laboratory-supplied sample containers. Upon completion of the sample collection, the equipment will be
.retrieved to the ground surface and decontaminated. The borehole will be brought to grade with neat cement
grout.
The groundwater samples will be analyzed for the following constituents:
• TPH-GRO,TPH-DRO,TPH-mo by USEPA Method 8016 Modified
• Benzene, toluene,ethylebenzene-and total xylenes(BTEX),MTBE, 1,2-dichlaroethane(1,2-DCA),
ethanol,diisopropyl ether(DIPS), ethyl tert-buytl ether(ETBE),tent-amyl methyl ether(TAME), t-buyll
alcohol(TBA)and 1,2-dibromoethene(EDB)by USEPA Method 8260B
Groundwater samples will be sealed, labeled, and pieced In an Ice-filled cooler and shipped under
appropriate chain-of-custody protocols to Lancaster Laboratories, Inc. In Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
3.4 Soil Sampling
In addition, two soil samples will be obtained at each CPT location,at nominal depths of 0--1 feet below
ground surface(ft bgs)and 2-3 ft bgs.The samples will be collected using a hand auger.and slide hammer
with stainless steel sample sleeves. . The core will be logged by a geologist and screened using a photo-
Ionization detector(PID).
The soil samples will be analyzed for the following constituents:
• CAM 17 metals by EPA 6010B
• TPH-GRO,TPH-DRO, and TPH-mo by USEPA Method 8015 Modified
• BTEX,MTBE, 1,2-DCA,ethanol, DIPE,EfBE,TAME,TBA and EDB by USEPA Method 82608
Upon completion of the soil borings, the boreholes will be brought to grade with neat cement grout.
5
